Foreigners rented most private cabins last year



Foreign nationals accounted for 83 per cent of all overnight stays at rented cabins and holiday homes in Norway last year, figures from Statistics Norway (SSB) show.

924,000 overnight stays were provided in 2019, of which 768,000 were foreign and 156,000 Norwegian. Hedmark was the county that tops the list with 389,000 overnights.

Citizens from Denmark, Germany and Sweden accounted for about 70 per cent of all overnight stays by foreign nationals at rented private cabins and in private holiday homes.
