Norwegian transported just over 1.95 million passengers in February, which is about 550,000 fewer than in the same month last year.

In total, 1,955,585 passengers chose to fly with the company in February. The punctuality for February was 84.2 per cent and the filling rate was 81.7 per cent.

“I am very pleased that we continue to deliver on the strategy of once again becoming profitable after several years of significant growth. This is the eleventh consecutive month that the planned capacity reduction has had a positive impact on unit revenues,” says Norwegian CEO Jacob Schram.

“At the same time, we have in recent days experienced reduced demand for some routes due to the corona virus and have therefore canceled some flights between Europe and the US,” says Schram.

Norwegian has canceled 22 flights between Europe and the United States from March 28th to May 5th, due to reduced demand, the company writes in a press release.

The airline states that they have few flights to northern Italy and other regions heavily affected by the virus.
