About 150 Ryanair passengers on their way from France to London can tell of a somewhat unusual reason for their delay after their plane was seized.

Passengers were checked in and finished with security checks. They were boarding the plane when they got a somewhat unexpected message on Thursday night.

The State unfortunately had to seize the plane because the company owed money according to French aviation authorities after the event in Bordeaux.

“The staff at the airport said something was wrong with the plane” said passenger, Boris Hejblum.

There were no representatives from the airline present, and the only messages from Ryanair were two text messages that the departure was delayed, and the availability of a 5 euro voucher.

“It’s less than the price of a sandwich at the airport” said Hejblum. The Frenchman found it strange that the police were the only ones giving information.

The plane, a Boeing 737, was released on Friday after Ryanair paid the bill of 525,000 euros, equivalent to around 5 million Norwegian kroner.
