SAS announces that, for environmental reasons, they will stop selling tax free goods on flights from the autumn.

The measure takes place as part of the airline’s sustainability program, which consists of several priority areas.

As part of this work, a number of changes on board will be carried out in the coming months that will reduce the aircraft’s overall weight, among other things, the tax free sale will cease, SAS writes in a press release.

The airline states that tax-free sales have been popular among customers, but that consumer behavior has changed. At the same time, it is emphasized that sustainability work has become more important than ever.

The company’s spokesperson Freja Annamatz states that the company aims to reduce emissions by 25 per cent by 2030. They have not published the amount of weight that is reduced as a result of the tax-free measure.
