The people have spoken: Stavern in Vestfold is this year’s Summer City – for the fourth consecutive year.

The competition was held by travel website Travel Guide (Reiseguiden)

Both Stavern, Kragerø and Tønsberg have got high placings on the list year after year, but Stavern has always been the obvious favorite. This year  the little town was chosen as the Summer City for the fourth consecutive year.

– We are not surprised by the win. Stavern is well known as a  town of artists and has attractions such as Stavernfestivalen, Glade Dager, a bunch of great beaches, cozy pedestrian streets and 200 days of sunshine a year,  Nina Bjordal, editorial manager at Travel Guide, says.
– Stavern has been chosen as the best summer city four years in a row and is thus a stable and worthy winner,  Nina Bjordal, editorial manager at Travel Guide, says.

Kragerø, Arendal, Tønsberg and Risør are among the other cities and towns in the top ten.

– It seems that people are fond of small towns with  a lot of  cultural activities taking place  in the summer,  Nina Bjordal, editorial manager at Travel Guide, says.

Those who  get into the Top 10 list this year to this year, who weren’ there las year, is Arendal, who got the 3rd place, and Risor, Rjukan and Bergen.

–  The places that are chosen as people’s  summer favorites are often small towns and coastal attractions, mostly in the southern and eastern thrones Norway. The capital did not manage to get into the Top 10 list this year, while Bergen that were not on the list last year managed to squeeze itself into the 10th place this year,  Nina Bjørdal, editorial manager at Travel Guide says.

The ranking of the year’s Summer was made during the period May 25-06.juni on the website Travel guide and  5160 people took part and voted for their favorites.
