“More flights to North America and new routes to Asia and Europe could be a long-term solution to the crisis in Norwegian,” says the company’s new chief executive Jacob Schram.

– “I think that is a huge opportunity, a niche in the market that we are created for,” says Schram to the Swedish news agency TT.

“I think there’s more to be gained from long-haul flights,” he says.

“In addition, Norwegian will need more strategic cooperation, in line with the agreement the company has signed with American’s JetBlue,” he says.

Norwegian recently posted disappointing results for last year, with a deficit of close to NOK 1.7 billion.
