Due to a technical error, police can no longer guarantee that people will receive their passports within ten business days.

“The delivery time of passports is now two to three days longer than normal,” the Police Directorate said Friday afternoon.

The technical error has been corrected, but the delays persist. The police estimates the production and delivery time of new passports to be 12-13 business days.

– “The situation that has arisen is regrettable. If you have recently applied for a passport and you have not received it in the mail as of yet, but need it within the next 13 days, it is possibly to apply for an emergency issue passport. For those who have applied and the return time has been delayed, the police will issue emergency passports free of charge,” says Director Kristin Kvigne, Police Department of Police.
