Schools in Bodø will have to operate at the “red” level from Monday until Easter. In the last 24 hours, seven new corona infection cases have been registered in the Municipality.

Five of the newly infected are close contacts, and are already in quarantine, health manager Stian Wik Rasmussen at Bodø Municipality noted.

The “red” level will also apply to Bodø upper secondary school and Bodin upper secondary school, while Kjerringøy, Værran, Skjerstad, and Misvær will be exempted and will continue to operate at a “yellow” level.

Kindergartens will also remain at the “yellow” level.

Measures extended

“This is because there is most infection among school students and not so much in kindergartens,” infection control chief Kai Brynjar Hagen noted.

On Thursday, a number of other corona measures in the Municipality were extended to March 11. Under the extension, alcohol serving is banned, and gyms have to close.

Furthermore, it is forbidden to have more than five guests in private homes.
