Meteorologists are encouraging people to drive carefully after a “yellow” warning has been issued for both snow and gusts of wind in large parts of Southern Norway.

The “yellow” snow warning has been issued for the southern mountain areas and Saltfjellet.

At the same time, another “yellow” danger warning has been issued for gusts of wind of 25–30 m/s in Møre og Romsdal and Trøndelag.

In the night between Friday and Saturday, meteorologists warn that gusts of up to 20 m/s are expected in the Innlandet county and the areas around the Oslo Fjord.

Snow warning

Already during Thursday, snow is expected on Saltfjellet in Nordland.

Up to Thursday night, there can be up to five centimeters of snow that can settle on the road.

“The amount of snow will probably vary, but it as much as ten centimeters can settle in some places,” state meteorologist Magnus Ovhed told Norwegian Broadcasting (NRK).

However, while the days leading up to the weekend will be marked by rain and wind in Southern Norway, temperatures could surpass 20 degrees during the weekend all over the country.
