Avinor and the other transport agencies are asking Transport Minister Ketil Solvik-Olsen to move Bodø Airport.
In the agencies’ proposal for a new National Transport Plan (NTP), they point out that the  military is going to move from the airport anyway, and that the runway from 1952 is in poor condition.
– This provides an opportunity to move the entire airport out to the seaside to the south, while the north side of Bodo Peninsula is utilized for urban development, according to the proposal.
The agencies say they expect that the move can be financed through the sale of the old airport.
