18 percent of the working women from Eastern Europe in Norway are working in the cleaning industry.
The corresponding figures for women from EU countries in Western Europe are 2.5 percent, according to figures from Statistics Norway.
Meanwhile 0.4 percent of women who do not have an immigrant background are working in the cleaning industry.
However,35 percent of the women without a immigrant background, are employed in health and social services. The corresponding figures for Eastern European women is 17.3 percent.
Despite a large proportion of the European women from the east being highly educated, many of them work in occupations without educational requirements.
