Equinor and Nordea are asking employees who have been traveling to places severely affected by the covid-19 virus to stay home for 14 days.

– “We have no reported cases of infection among our employees, so this is a precautionary measure. And we follow the advice of both Norwegian and international health authorities to a large extent,” says press spokesman in Equinor Erik Haaland to NTB.

He says that the company has sent a message to employees who have been traveling in Italy, China, South Korea and Iran, asking them to stay home from work for a 14-day period after traveling.

– “We have good solutions for employees to work from home for those that should apply,” Haaland adds.

Nordea has also instructed employees coming from China and Singapore to stay home for two weeks.

– “A few apply, but this is to protect employees and customers,” says press contact Synne Ekrem in Nordea to VG.
