A fish farm in Finnmark is convicted in Lofoten District Court for exploiting foreign labour.

The dispute was that eleven Lithuanian workers were not paid overtime, even though they worked significant overtime. Norwegian workers at the fish farm, on the other hand, were paid for overtime hours, writes NRK.

The fish farm in Lofoten District Court is sentenced to pay NOK 431,049 for overtime hours for employees. In total, the fish farm must pay out NOK 3.7 million in damages and to compensate for financial loss from wrongful redundancies.

The former manager of the company is personally responsible for repaying over NOK 2 million of this to the workers, even though the company is bankrupt.
