The Norwegian government appointed a new group of experts to look at climate-related investment opportunities – and climate risk – for the Oil Fund.

Former Minister of Finance and current director of Cicero Kristin Halvorsen is among the group’s members.

The group will be led by Martin Skancke (chairman of the board of PRI, member of TCFD, and board member of Storebrand).

The other members are Tone Bjørnstad Hanstad at Ferd and Professor Karin S. Thorbu at the NHH.

“We need more knowledge about how the transition to a low-emission society could affect the pension fund’s exposure to climate risk and climate-related investment opportunities.

“This expert group will be an important contribution to shed more light on this,” Minister of Finance Jan Tore Sanner (H) noted in a press release.
