All local trains on Østfoldbanen are stopped from Saturday, confirmed by NSB and a total of 118 train drivers be affected by the strike.
Around 20,000 daily passengers on Østfoldbanen are affected by strike. In addition, there will be some impact on local trains in the Bergen area and some night trains between Oslo and Bergen.
– We regret for those affected. Those passengers who did not come by train must find solutions on their own, says CEO of NSB, Geir Isaksen, to the newspaper NTB.
Since situation is due to strikes NSB cannot insert buses to replace trains.
The strike in train driver Association started Thursday after mediation between LO Stat and Spekter, respectively representing Norwegian train driver Association and NSB, broke down.
The parties disagree on how the requirement should be included for train driver education.
Altogether 118 train drivers are on strike from Saturday including 33 in Moss, 29 in Ski, 28 in Lillestrøm, 19 in Oslo, 7 in Bergen, 1 in Trondheim and 1 in Kristiansand.
