The Norwegian company Kitron will deliver communication and navigation systems for the F-35, with a contract worth over one billion.
The contract with Northrop Grumman Corporation lasts until 2036 with the delivery of communication, navigation and identification systems.
– F-35 program is important for Norway and increasing defense capability considerably, while it is important for Kitron and surrounding areas, since this term program ensures significant employment, says Hans Petter Thomassen, CEO of Kitron Norway.
Kitron was established in Arendal in the 60s, but today has headquarters in Asker.
Norway decided in 2008 that the F-35 will replace the current F-16 combat aircraft. The first aircraft will be delivered in 2019.
