Monday's gala dinner at the Royal Palace opened with asparagus and the chives in the mayonnaise came from the royal residence at Bygdoy.
Israeli President Shimon Peres and all the other guests were served four dishes when King Harald invited to the gala dinner in conjunction with Peres ' state visit .
After the asparagus followed tonight's fish dish : smoked halibut with butter sauce , capers , onions, cream and apple. Also tonight`s meat dish had a light and spring-like feel, with loin of lamb as the main ingredient . It was served with sausages, artichoke puree and carrot , according to the Royal Palace.
The meal ended sweet and crisp with caramel and strawberry .
And as tradition demands in a royal gala dinner held the host a speech to the guest. In the constitutional jubilee year told the king about what he called as one of the most important changes in the Constitution : the removal of the Jewish prohibition in 1851.
King also talked about Peres ' leadership and a political career which is one year longer than the existence of Israel as a state. Among other things, the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 was highlighted. Which Peres shared with then Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat . The King also expressed the hope that the spirit from the Oslo process in turn can lead to " highly necessary progress in the negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians ."
The end of the speech was a bowl of Peres , Israel and good relations "between our two countries ».
