While Norwegian exports of fresh salm on to China collapsed after the peace prize in 2010,is the export to the neighboring Vietnam increased dramatically in recent years. From Vietnam the salmon finds the road to China.

Norway's market for fresh salmon in China have fallen from about 90 percent in 2010 to under 30 percent in the first half of this year. However, according to Dagens Næringsliv is far more Norwegian salmon in China than the official export statistics show.
Parallel to the market for Norwegian salmon in China have plummeted, have the exports to neighboring Vietnam increased from 2010.Norway exported 590 tonnes of fresh salmon to Vietnam for a value of NOK 26 million. In comparison, only so far this year have they exported 10,000 tonnes of salmon to Vietnam, worth a total of NOK 460 million.
