Queen Sonja opened Tuesday exhibition "1814 - the game of Denmark and Norway" at the Norwegian Folk Museum.
Tuesday 14 January is the 200th anniversary of the Kiel Treaty was concluded. After over 400 years of Danish monarchy led the political game to the union with Sweden. This was for Norway the first step towards a new constitution.
On the Kiel treaty`s 200th birthday opened the queen the exhibit about 1814 in cooperation with the National History Museum Frederiksborg Castle in Denmark.
The exhibition features nearly 300 artifacts that tell the story of what happened before, during and after 1814, both nationally and internationally.
The exhibition last from 14th January to July this year. There will be a range of public activities throughout the spring in conjunction with the anniversary.
