60 cars were involved in a big chain reaction crash on the slippery ice of E39 in Eidsvåg in Bergen on Monday morning.
The police received the first reports of the collision at 6:31.
– There are 60 cars in the area, 40 of these have been damaged. We are now trying to clean up, so that we can open the road again, operations manager Terje Magnussen of the West police said.
Two people have been sent to Haukeland hospital and one is sent to the emergency room, he informs. The three are believed to be lightly wounded.
A total of between five and ten people have suffered minor injuries in the collision. The area of the accidents extends through 200 meters in the northbound run on E39, just north of Eidsvåg tunnel. The road is still closed at 8 o’clock Monday.
