A man is charged for death threats against Per Sandberg and Bahareh Letnes

A man in his 30’s has been charged  of having threatened to kill former FRP minister Per Sandberg and his partner, Bahareh Letnes earlier this year.

-”You are going to die today:”, the man is said to have written in a SMS to Letnes  on the 6th of January this year, according to the indictment. 

At about the same time, Per Sandberg is said to have a received an SMS from the man, which said:

-”I know where you live. You will never be safe. Bahareh will taste justice.”

The man is also said to have appeared at the police station in Oslo on the same day he repeated the death threats against Letnes to the police on duty.

Received threats after an Instagram post

Three days after the man allegedly sent the death threats, Letnes and Sandberg were interviewed in Adresseavisen.

-”I have not dared to go out to get firewood in the garden once. I have not been out of the house in three days.”, Letnes said. 

The threats came after Norwegian-Iranian Letnes posted an instagram post in her support of Iranian General, Qasem Soleimani, who was killed in a US drone attack on the 3rd of January. 

Per Sandberg said that the case is the most serious he has been involved in.

-”We have lived with various threats against us in recent years. This time it was a little more direct than what we have been involved with before.”, Sandberg said.

More threatened

The man is also charged with threats againa two other people and a case officer in Nav. As well breaking into Nav’s premises at Frogner in Oslo, where he is said to have destroyed a number of objects. 

In addition, he is accused of having taken well-known items for 100,000 NOK, which he took when he worked as a courier driver. 

Two days have been set aside for the case, which will come before the Oslo district court.
