Around 200 aircraft maintenance engineers launched a sympathy strike to support SAS pilots. The strike was organized by the Dansk Metal organization.

The 200 aircraft technicians on strike are responsible for multiple aircraft in a SAS subsidiary, according to Swedish Radio.

Airplanes need to be serviced every three days to be able to operate in ordinary traffic. In the long run, the aircraft maintenance engineers’ strike could affect multiple SAS flights.

SAS, for its part, states that they have found a solution so that the sympathy strike does not affect more SAS aircraft than those that have already been affected due to the pilot strike.
