A total of 48 new coronavirus cases have been registered in Bergen in the last 24 hours, the Municipality reported on Thursday.

Out of the total, 30 are close contacts, six are cases of imported infections, and 12 have an unknown route of infection, the Municipality wrote in an update.

Furthermore, 19 of those infected are between 13 and 19 years old.

“The age group 13-19 still dominates the infection figures. Many young people have no or mild symptoms and may not think they are infected. They, therefore, risk infecting others without knowing it themselves,” chief infection control officer Egil Bovim stated.

A total of 2,433 people tested themselves in Bergen on Wednesday.
