Fire alarm goes off at the KRF election headquarters in the middle of Ropstad’s speech

KrF leader Kjell Ingolf Ropstad congratulated Jonas Gahr Støre (AP) on his likely election victory. Just as Ropstad was saying that the government would resign, the KRF’s election headquarters had to be evacuated as a fire alarm went off.

The fire alarm went off during Ropstad’s speech – just as he was thanking party members for their efforts and saying that the government would resign.

“There is one thing that is clear – the government has lost support in the Storting, and we will resign as soon as a new government is in place,” Ropstad said.

The Solberg government will resign after the state budget is presented this autumn, as long as Støre manages to get together a new government.

“I would like to congratulate Støre on the election result and wish him luck on the job. KrF will return to being an opposition party in the Storting,” Ropstad said.
