In a new survey carried out among people over 70 in Norway, 38% say that they have experienced social isolation during the pandemic. For many, the isolation has been stressful.

Of the 9,391 people who responded to the survey that the organization Aging and Health has conducted for the Norwegian Directorate of Health, 82% of those who experienced social isolation described it as “somewhat stressful,” while 7% described it as “very stressful.”

Only 11% have not experienced isolation as stressful.

Among all participants, 5% answered that they feel socially isolated regardless of the pandemic.
