Johnson & Johnson stated that the company is postponing the introduction of its coronavirus vaccine in Europe, pending investigations into reported blood clot cases.

The move was announced in a statement from the company on Tuesday, which was sent in the wake of the US authorities putting the use of the vaccine on pause.

“We have made a decision to postpone the introduction of our vaccine in Europe proactively,” the company wrote.

On Tuesday, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) called for a halt in vaccination with the J&J vaccine at federal centers and ask the states to follow suit, The New York Times reported.
