Man drowned in Drammensfjorden

A 63 year old man from Drammen drowned at Kinnartangen in Drammensfjorden this Saturday morning. The police were notified about the incident early this morning at 7.50 and arrived 10 minutes later.

‘We started searching with sailboats, together with the fire department, for about 20 minutes’, said officer Svein Erik Gevelt of the South-Eastern Police District to newspaper Drammens Tidende. The man was found under water by divers after 30 minutes. At 10 am, after the man was flown to to Ullevål Hospital in Oslo, the police confirmed that the incident had fatal consequences.

The man was on the deck to prepare the nets. Shortly after, his wife noticed that her husband was no longer on the boat.
