A total of 61 children in Gaza and two children in southern Israel have been killed in the clashes over the past week. Furthermore, 366 children have been injured in attacks on Gaza, according to the new figures from the health authorities in the Gaza Strip on Tuesday.

That means that three new children have been injured in the war every hour that has passed since the conflict flared up last Monday.

In total, more than 1,000 people have been injured in the attacks on the Gaza Strip, according to Save the Children’s overview.

A ten-year-old boy in Gaza told Save the Children that the airstrikes made him very afraid.

“I wake up scared”

“Every time we want to go out and come to the door, there is a new attack, and we have to run in again as soon as we can. Every time I put my head on the pillow, there is a new attack, and I wake up scared,” the boy said.

Save the Children warns of a triple crisis for children in Gaza. The bombs themselves, the power system and infrastructure that are being destroyed, and the fact that injured and sick children are not allowed to leave Gaza for treatment.

“About 60 children in Gaza have been killed in one week. How many families must lose loved ones before the global community takes action? Where can the children run for cover when the air raids rain down on their homes,” Jason Lee, country manager for Palestine in Save the Children, noted.
