A man in his 40s, who is accused of killing his mother in her 60s, will consent to imprisonment. The murder took place in Tøyen in Oslo on Friday afternoon.

– There will probably be a prison meeting on Monday, and he will agree to imprisonment. He understands that the police must carry out their investigations, says the man’s defender, Marijana Lozic, to NTB.

It will therefore probably not be a physical court hearing. Lozic further says that the man is linked to the time and place of the murder, but will not elaborate on how he views the charge.

– He is affected, the defender says regarding the man’s health.

Leader for intelligence and investigation in the Oslo police district Grete Lien Metlid informed NTB on Saturday morning that the police aims to do the questioning in the morning. Preliminary interrogations have now been carried out, which will continue at a later date.

– I had a long conversation with him in custody last night, and then we concluded that it was best to wait a bit with further questioning, Lozic told NTB Saturday morning.

It was Friday afternoon that the police found a dead woman at an address in Tøyen, Oslo. The man was arrested shortly after elsewhere in Oslo. Neither the defender nor the police want to say anything about where in Oslo the arrest took place.
