Eleven Norwegian naval vessels will install cruise missiles that can attack targets over 200 km inland.

This allows the Norwegian Armed Forces for the first time , and as one of the very few countries in the world, mid-range cruise missiles launched from ships as part of the military arsenal, the newspaper VG reports. The upgrade takes place this week.
– This increases our overall military capabilities significantly. The Norwegian navy will now able to attack targets on land with a weapon system that has a long range and high precision, says information officer in the Navy, Commander Per Rostad.
This is a further development of the so-called NSM missiles that are capabale of hitting targets several hundred kilometers inland. The missiles are designed and built by Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace in collaboration with the Armed Forces.
