Nord-Fron: Deer hunter who shot two llamas by mistake fined 15,000 kroner

A hunter who shot two llamas that he thought were deer will be fined NOK 15,000. In addition, his weapon has been confiscated.

Police lawyer Einar Gauslaa Bergem at the Innlandet Police District confirmed the information to the newspaper Gudbrandsdølen Dagningen.

The man was on a deer hunt in Nord-Fron at the end of October. The hunt ended with him shooting two llamas.

According to the police, the hunter received a tip that there were deer in the area. When he arrived, he saw three animals and was convinced that the animals were deer. He shot two of them. When he reached the animals, he realized the mistake.

The man contacted the police himself.
