According to the police in Agder, a man in his 20s was shot on Sunday morning in Brennåsen in Kristiansand. A suspected perpetrator has been charged with attempted murder.

The police were notified of the incident at 6:39 AM on Sunday morning. A man in his 20s had been shot at a private address in Brennåsen.

The man was conscious after being shot and was taken to the hospital in Kristiansand for treatment. His condition was not known on Sunday morning.

The suspected perpetrator fled the scene in a car. After a short time, he was stopped by a police patrol in Søgne and arrested.

“He is charged with attempted murder,” police attorney Ole Martin Paulsen in Agder Police District told news bureau NTB.

Known to the police

The accused is also in his 20s. On Sunday morning, he asked to have lawyer Per Holter Andersen appointed as his defense counsel.

Both involved are known to the police from the past. A full investigation has been launched at the scene, a semi-detached house in Brennåsen west of Kristiansand city center.

“None of those involved have been questioned by the police. The investigation is taking place at the scene (of the crime), and the police are trying to get in touch with witnesses,” Paulsen said.
