Norwegian police have uncovered a drug network that is said to have smuggled large amounts of heroin and cocaine from Oslo to Tromsø each month since 2018.

“This network appears to be well organized with associated logistics for the transport of drugs and cash, which has supplied Troms with heroin for several years,” police inspector Yngve Myrvoll said.

The investigation, which started last autumn, has been aimed at nine actors between the ages of 20 and 50. Most are Norwegian citizens who belong to a Somali environment.

“Larger amounts of heroin and amphetamine have been seized in Tromsø and Oslo in connection with the investigation,” Myrvoll added.

In addition, several people in Troms have been charged in the case.

The police believe that the network has distributed large amounts of heroin in Northern Norway for several years. The investigation is in its final phase.
