Samsung calls on consumers worldwide to stop using the phone Galaxy Note 7 immediately and replace it as soon as possible, after yet more reports that the phone has caught fire.
In recent days, several airlines have asked travelers to turn off the phone and not charge it during flights.
The 2.5 million Note 7 phones that have been sold so far were recalled last week, but even after this, there have been new reports of phones that have caught fire and exploded.
Thus, the company found it necessary to be more visible in their exhortations to people who bought the phone.
– We ask users to turn off their Galaxy Note 7 their phones and hand them back to us as soon as possible. We will ship out replacement models which people can use during the swap period, the company declares in a statement from
Samsung plans to replace the batteries in all of the 2.5 million models. The recall last week came just two weeks after the model was launched. By 35 cases where the batteries have exploded during charging had already been reported.
The airlines SAS and Norwegian decided at the weekend to ban travelers who have the phone from using it or charging it while on board.
