Several fires in Vestfold after a lightning: – There has been chaos

The fire department in Vestfold on Sunday morning went to several fires and fire alarms. Lightning strikes are probably the cause of the fires.

– “There has been some chaos here, to put it mildly,” says security manager Arild Reinhartsen at Southeast 110 Central to NTB.

Within a short time on Sunday morning, the fire department in Vestfold had received several reports of fire and automatic fire alarms.

– “Only since I arrived at work just before 7 o’clock have we reached out to three fires. Inquiries have sprung up,” says Reinhartsen at 7.30.

Sunday morning there’s a fire in an old barn in Kodal in Sandefjord. No people or animals are in the building, and the fire department has it under control.

There is also a fire in an old hut in Andebu in Sandefjord. There were no people in the cabin.

Another fire in the attic floor of a dwelling in Larvikgaten in Tønsberg. Fire crews from three stations are on site and are working on extinguishing it. There were no people in the home when the fire started.

At the same time, a number of automatic fire alarms in the district have led to calls.

– “There is no danger to life or health in any of the fires,” says Reinhartsen, who so far cannot say anything for certain about the cause of the fires.

– “But it is raining here now, so it is obvious to think that it is related to the weather,” he says.
