The government continues its cooperation with the airlines and travel companies, which since March 18 have brought home 3,800 Norwegians. The scheme will be extended until 1 June.

In total, 29 flights, most from Oslo Airport, have received support through the scheme.

The planes have gone with Norwegians and other Nordic citizens from the Canary Islands, Spain, Cyprus, Turkey, Italy, Morocco, Brazil, Pakistan and Ghana.

“Fortunately, many are already home, but the situation is still unpredictable, and we maintain the scheme to continue to facilitate home travel in the coming weeks, if necessary,” Minister of Transport Knut Arild Hareide (KrF) said in a press release.
