The accident on the E4 near Nyköping, which cost three men their lives, happened after a car with three men in their 20s did not stop for traffic police.

The three young men tried to drive away from the police at high speed.

“The car and a minibus collided head-on. When we got there, the car was on fire,” Henrik Dewoon-Thorén in Södertörn’s fire service told the Swedish newspaper Expressen.

The accident happened just after 11 PM on Saturday.

When the police arrived at the scene, they tried to free the men from the car but only managed to free one of them. The other two died. The driver of the minibus, a man in his 50s, also died, the newspaper writes.

The third man in the car was sent to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
