In August, the Norwegian police received three times more tips on hateful statements and concerns about right-wing radicals than what normally comes in a month.

Usually there are between 20 and 30 tips through the police channels every month, shows an overview that Klassekampen have access to. In August, the number was 69 – three times as high.

The National Criminal Investigation Service (Kripos) sees the connection between the attack on the mosque and the search for tips in hindsight, and points out that the same thing happened in March. Then there was also a tripling of tips – 68 in total, after the mosque attack in New Zealand, in which 51 people were killed.
