King Harald and Queen Sonja received Thursday a hectic tour of some of Turkey's most famous cultural-historical pearls. The Royal Family has gotten a taste for Turkey, and the feeling seems mutual .
- This is overwhelming , laughed the king and queen after Thursday's sightseeing in Istanbul.
Tourists , reporters and photographers had then crowded around them and harassed them closely from the stepped out of the car in front of Hagia Sofia , the largest Byzantine monument in Istanbul and throughout the tour . When the king and queen afterwards had visited the Sultan Ahmed Mosque , also known as the Blue Mosque , a huge Turkish pressure commotion outside expecting them outside . The wall of photographers and reporters with microphones right under the royal noses impressed . Then came the art enthusiasts queen with a small sigh as she praised the mighty works of art she had seen:
- It has been a wonderful experience , I only wish I was allowed to wander alone. But it's a dream , she smiled , while the king chuckled at the thought .
