The opening date for the new main library in Oslo is now set. The new library in Bjørvika will open on March 28.

Two million visitors annually are expected when the 19,600-square-foot building finally opens, following a process that has lasted for over ten years.

The building was supposed to have opened in 2016, but major water leaks during construction have delayed the process.

This has also resulted in a budget costing half a billion kroner. The new library has cost NOK 2.5 billion.
