Rest in peace Kjersti Holmen, beloved Norwegian actress

Actress Kjersti Holmen died on September 26, 2021, after battling illness for a long time. She was 65 years old.

Holmen fell asleep quietly at Økernhjemmet in Oslo, actor and colleague Kim Haugen informed NTB on behalf of Holmen’s family. The family now wants peace and hopes that people respect this.

Holmen was a popular actress who had a long career in theater, television, and film. She made her debut in the play Mannfolk at Oslo Nye Teater in 1980.

Throughout her career, Holmen won a number of prestigious awards, including Per Aabel’s Honorary Award and Aase Bye’s Scholarship. In addition, she also received the Amanda Award on two occasions.

In 2009, she was appointed a Knight of the 1st class of the Order of St. Olav for her efforts for Norwegian performing arts. That same year, she received the Amanda Committee’s Honorary Award.
