A 14-year-old boy died of injuries he suffered after a bicycle accident on Båsmoen at Rana Municipality in Nordland, informs the University Hospital in Tromso.
The boy was the victim of a traffic accident Friday night.
– A cyclist and a car collided, said prosecuting leader Linda Frønes at Nordland police to news agency NTB.
The 14-year-old was first transported by ambulance to Helgelandssykehuset at Mo in Rana. Later he was sent by air ambulance to the University Hospital in Tromso.
– We will not yet go into detail about the incident. This is something we will return to, but the investigation into the incident will continue in the next few days, says the Frønes.
The police were informed of the traffic accident at 8pm Friday night. The boy died from severe injuries in hospital last night. The municipality has set up a crisis team to look after the relatives.
