On Friday, 93 corona-infected patients were admitted to hospitals in Norway. That is an increase of one patient from the day before.

Furthermore, 18 of the patients are currently on respirators, according to the Norwegian Directorate of Health’s overview on Friday.

Since February last year, a total of 70,040 people have been diagnosed with coronavirus in Norway, Friday’s preliminary figures from the national reporting system for infectious diseases (MSIS) show.

One corona-related death at a Bergen hospital

A patient with coronavirus died on Thursday afternoon at Haraldsplass hospital in Bergen, the hospital stated.

The hospital did not state the age or gender of the patient, but noted that the person in question was between 18 and 64 years old, newspaper Bergens Tidende wrote.

The patient was admitted to the intensive care unit, communications manager at the hospital Ingrid Lovise Ferøyvik said, according to Bergensavisen.

Haraldsplass has strict visiting rules in place, and earlier this month, there was a period of temporary suspension of visits for relatives.
