The Oslo Police District believes that the Pride parade in the capital, which was canceled after the mass shooting on June 25, could take place this Autumn.

“The Oslo Police District has extensive experience in preparing various events.

“Most of the work is done in advance with dialogue and preventive work. In addition, we allocate resources for events as needed,” chief of staff Harald Nilssen in the Oslo Police District told the newspaper Aftenposten.

This year’s Pride parade was canceled just a few hours before it was due to start after terrorist suspect Zaniar Matapour opened fire on people in the center of Oslo on June 25, killing two people.

Head of Oslo Pride Inger Kristin Haugsevje has previously said that it is unclear whether there will be a Pride parade this year.
