Haukeland University Hospital in Bergen is introducing visitation restrictions. Furthermore, it’s preparing for up to 60 admitted COVID-19 patients at the same time in the run-up to Christmas.

The forecast for the number of simultaneous hospitalizations in the next 14 days is estimated to be between 15 and 60 patients.

Hospital manager Eyvind Hansen told the newspaper Bergensavisen that the hospital has reviewed the staff at all the clinics and assessed the possibilities of reorganizing activities and reallocating people.

At the same time, all employees are currently being vaccinated with the booster dose at a high pace.

On Tuesday morning, Helse Bergen decided to introduce visitation restrictions so that a maximum of two people, who have an appointment in advance, can visit at the same time.

The measure is introduced to limit the spread of infection, especially in the context of the new omicron variant.
