A 25-year-old man has been sentenced in Hordaland District Court to five years in prison for human trafficking, pimping, drug dealing, and aggravated robbery.

The man admitted to recruiting underage girls for prostitution on Snapchat, the newspaper Bergens Tidende writes.

“He had no qualms about using minors in his business, and it was clearly profit-motivated,” public prosecutor Benedikte Høgseth said during the process in court.

She asked for six and a half years in prison and will now consider an appeal. The man’s defender, lawyer Kathrine Liland, will also consider appealing.

“We will go through the verdict and then take it from there,” she said.
