A total of 59 Norwegian soldiers who have served in Iraq, were awarded a medal when they came home to Norway on Friday.
The ceremony took place in Ridehuset at Akershus Fortress. The medals were presented by Lieutenant General Rune Jakobsen, head of the operational headquarters.
The Government was represented by Defence Minister Ine Eriksen Søreide (H), who gave a speech to the soldiers. Chief of Defence Haakon Bruun-Hanssen and Army Inspector General Odin Johannessen were also present.
