Minister of Health and Care Services Bent Høie (H) confirmed that the Russian COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik V might be relevant for Norway.

On Thursday, the EU’s medicine agency EMA started an ongoing assessment of Sputnik V.

That means that an important step has been taken on the road to the vaccine’s approval in both the EU and Norway.

“I think it is positive that the EMA has finally received the documentation it needs about the vaccine to be able to start this work,” Høie told news bureau NTB.

“If it is approved, it may also be relevant for Norway,” he confirmed.
