A 40-year-old Norwegian-Iranian has pleaded guilty of collaborating with Iranian intelligence on the planning of an assassination of an exiled Iranian resident in Denmark.

The 40-year-old has lived in Norway for ten years and is a Norwegian citizen. He was arrested by Swedish police in October 2018 and then extradited to Denmark.

He is accused of collecting information about an exile in Denmark for the purpose of delivering it to Iranian intelligence, which is suspected of having planned an attack.

The man whom the defendant is accused of spying on escaped from Iran to Denmark in 2006. He is one of the founders of the Arab Struggle Movement for the Liberation of Ahvaz (ASMLA), which is considered a terrorist organization in Iran.
