As vocal patrons of this year’s telethon, Queen Sonja and Crown Princess Mette-Marit will follow up the collection at close range in the studio Sunday.

It will be a seven hour-long broadcast directly from NRK Marienlyst Sunday, but collection boxes are at work across the country.

“Queen Sonja and Crown Princess Mette-Marit will be in the studio together from at 18.15 o’clock 19,” says communications manager Marianne Hagen at the Royal Palace to news agency NTB.

There are interviews with the royals, both of which have been engaged in activities that the Red Cross organized ahead of the big day.

In addition, they will be keeping track of the telethon and everything that goes on in the studio, including artists who entertain and celebrities sitting in the telephone panel callers.

This year funds raised will go to the Red Cross for people affected by war and conflict in nine countries: Syria, Lebanon, Sudan, Afghanistan, Myanmar, Somalia, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras.

This will also includes refugees who have come to Norway from these countries.
